ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE
National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO)
The National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) is presently established as a division under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, headed by the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health and Director General, NACO, GoI. The technical divisions are headed by officers at the level of Deputy Director General, DGHS. The finance division is headed by Director-Finance while Admin and Procurement is headed by the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health.
State AIDS Control Societies (SACS)
SACS were established at the state level to support planning and implementation of the AIDS response. The state unit is headed by a Project Director (PD), nominated by the State Government. The PD is supported by a technical team led by the Additional Project Director (APD), while finance functions are overseen by the Joint Director (Finance)/Finance Controller. The technical components are coordinated by the Joint/Deputy Directors/Assistant Directors. Andaman & Nicobar Island AIDS Society (ANACS) was registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 on 30th October 1998 as per direction of Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, under the Chairmanship of Secretary (Health A&N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) does not have a District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCUs).

All the Facility level positions are filled. Some vacancies are in the SACS/Office Level. Out of the total sanctioned position of 65 in NACP IV, 57 are filled and 8 vacant.
